Performance carrying 80lbs of hand bottled water from Lake Trasimeno to Cortona-12km.
The Ideas was sparked from a conversation with several locals who stated that the lake at the bottom of the valley was only used by barbarians for swimming.---and that Italians don’t do such things. Also since my last visit to Italy, Italians had completely switched to using plastic bottles for drinking. How do you bring ideas of one’s surroundings to those who live within it? How do we bring attention to our disconnect with the environmental elements that sustain us? For me labor, performance-friction was the answer. So if Italians won’t go to the lake I will bring the lake to them.
